Begonia Amphioxus in Sunrise Pot

Begonia amphioxus is a small cane Begonia endemic to Sabah in Borneo where it grows at the bottom of limestone cliffs and on low rocky outcrops under the tree canopy. While it can grow to around 75cm tall it can easily be pruned to maintain desired height. 

 

Begonia amphioxus is more commonly grown as a terrarium plant however these plants have been acclimated to conditions with less humidty and should thrive as a houseplant as long as some increase in humidity is still provided.

 

These beauties are a real eye-catcher. With her beautiful distinctive spotty patterning she'll be a show stopper in your home.

  • Light: Grows best in bright, indirect light.
  • Humidity: Prefers humid environments so will do best in a kitchen or bathroom. Best not to mist these plants as they don't like their leaves getting too wet.
  • Watering: Keep the soil moist but not wet. Bottom water ideally as their leaves don't like to get too wet. Ideally water with rain or distilled water.
  • Temperature: Prefers warmer room temperatures.
  • Pets: Harmful if eaten. Keep out of reach.
