The popular Phalaenopsis orchid is one of the easiest varieties of orchids to grow as a houseplant, and is often called the beginner orchid due to its easy going nature, or the moth orchid due to the shape of its blooms.
This orchid with leafy stems and long-lasting flowers does best a bright, warm, humid spot. Indoors, the Phalaenopsis will typically bloom about once a year, for up to three months.
After a blooming cycle, the flowers will wilt and fall off. When this happens, don’t worry, your orchid is not dead, it’s just storing up energy to re-bloom again next season.

- Light: Grows best in bright indirect light.
- Watering: During the growing season, water the plant whenever its exposed roots turn silvery white. Run warm water over the plant, bark, and aerial roots three or four times over the course of about 10 minutes, giving the orchid plenty of time for absorption. Then, make sure it's completely drained of water. Once the roots have been watered, they should turn from silver to pale green. During the flowering season, you can reduce the watering. Phalaenopsis orchids can suffer from root or stem rot, which usually occurs because the growing medium has been overwatered and is too soggy.
- Temperature: Prefers warmer room temperatures.
- Pets: Pet friendly.
Note: All our plants are unique, the plant you receive might not be identical to the one photographed but we're sure you're going to love it either way!
