Phlebodium aureum - Blue Star Fern

The Blue Star Fern, or Phlebodium aureum, is a tender, evergreen fern popularly grown as a houseplant. It’s native to tropical regions of South America, North America and the Caribbean where it grows as an epiphyte. It bears beautiful, blue-green fronds that emerge from the creeping rhizomes, which have a furry appearance.

In the UK, it makes a fantastic, easy to grow houseplant that can be moved outdoors in summer.

Fancy a lovely pot to put this beauty in? Here is our collection of pots which fit 17cm - 23cm nursery pots.

  • Light: Does best in bright, indirect light but out of too much direct sunshine.
  • Watering: Like slightly moist soil so water thoroughly when the top inch of the soil dries out.
  • Humidity: Likes a more humid environment so mist regularly or keep in a bathroom or kitchen to avoid crispy tips.
  • Temperature: Normal room temperature is good - does not like cold spaces or draughts.
  • Pets: Not troublesome to pets

Note: All our plants are unique, the plant you receive might not be identical to the one photographed but we're sure you're going to love it either way!
