This popular tropical plant is epiphytic (which means it grows on other plants) and can be found attaching themselves to trees in the jungle.
Because of this, they have an unusual way of staying hydrated. Instead of taking water up through their roots, guzmania plants collect rainwater in the crevices of their leaves and the central ‘cup’. You can make them feel right at home by watering them in the same way - even better if you’re using distilled water or collected rainwater.
Expect the bracts (the colourful loveliness!) to last many weeks in to months to give a great show. Once they fade, pups will form, and propagation naturally begins to recreate the festive look in the future. Baby free plants!

- Light: These will need lots of bright light.
- Watering: Keep the soil moist but not wet! Allow the surface to dry out.
- Temperature: Prefers warmer room temperatures. Keep away from draughts.
- Pets: These plants are pet safe :)

We can only deliver to Isle of Man addresses. Any orders placed for delivery off island will be cancelled and refunded.
We offer local doorstep deliveries island wide.
Worried about not being in? No need, we're happy to leave your plant in a safe place. In the shed, under the red bin, with a neighbour, wherever suits you! Just leave us a note at the checkout.
We make deliveries every Wednesday and Saturday, your preferred day can be selected in the drop-down menu at the checkout. If neither of these work for you, get in touch and we'll see if can arrange something. Likewise, if you would like a plant to be delivered as a gift on a day other than Wednesday or Saturday, please get in touch and we'll see what we can do!
